Saitama Prefecture Hall Showcases Unique Architectural Design

SAITAMA — Delicate touches can be seen in the minimalist design of the Saitama Prefecture Agriculture and Forestry Hall, located in the Urawa Ward of Saitama City, Japan. This architectural gem was completed in December 1962 and showcases the creativity of renowned architect Kiyoshi Seike, who is celebrated for his innovative residential structures. Over 60 years later, the hall’s distinct character remains vibrant and relevant.

The building is constructed from reinforced concrete, featuring four floors above ground and one below. An interesting aspect of the design is the piloti structure on the first floor, which elevates the building as if suspended midair through sturdy columns spaced approximately 13 meters apart.
